You can use your ad-free website:

Most people who set up family websites do it one of two ways:

A.  They use the free site that comes with their internet service provider.

B.  They use a free web service like GeoCities, Lycos, or Angelfire.

The disadvantages of these methods?  There are several:

1.  You can’t post very much on your internet-provided website, because it is probably limited to 10 megabytes.  In that space, you can post 20 or 30 large photos.

You just don’t have much room to build your site.  (For comparison purposes, an ordinary CD holds 700 megabytes.)

How much information and how many pictures can you post on a 500 megabyte site?  One of my business websites uses less than 200 megs, and I have over a thousand pictures on it:  http://danhughesautographs.com.

2.  Your website URL is probably a long, hard-to-remember name like:

http://www.prairienet.org/~dhughes or

http://members.soltec.net/~dan/bdhs65.html

Those were my web sites before I learned how to change them to:

http://danhughes.net and

http://bdhs65.com.  (BDHS65, by the way, is my high school graduating class website.  Check it out!)

Wouldn’t you rather have a name like http://yourname.com

3.  When you use free sites like GeoCities, Angelfire, and Lycos, all kinds of ads—especially those maddening pop-ups—will drive you--and your visitors (or customers)--nuts.  Many of these sites are painful to visit because of the advertising.

I will show you how to solve these problems.  I have invested many hours in internet detective work to find the best, most reliable, and lowest-priced vendors of web sites and domain names--and I found that those goals are NOT self-contradictory!

And after wading through and sorting out difficult-to-understand instructions, I have developed a step-by-step instruction procedure that will walk you easily through the entire process.

My manual is just 12 pages long, but it does exactly the job it is advertised to do.  You don't have to read for three hours to find the few bits of vital information you need.

"Dan writes books for people who don't like to read."

It’s easy to find instructions for setting up websites using HTML or FrontPage or other web-building programs, but it is nearly impossible to find information on how to actually acquire a domain name and couple it with web space to set up a private site inexpensively.  Until now!

In real life I am a college instructor.  I have been teaching radio broadcasting for (gulp!) 25 years, and my students tell me that I have a gift for making difficult tasks easy by breaking them down into step-by-step instructions.  I used this method to put together my website instruction manual.

I’ll show you how to purchase your own domain name for under $2.00 (many vendors charge as much as $30 or more).  And I’ll show you how to purchase a one-gig web site for eighteen bucks a year.

That's less than two cents per meg per year!

Others pay many times this, and more, because they just don’t know any better.

This manual is not available anywhere else, including web stores like Amazon.  If they want a copy, they have to buy it from me right here, at the same price you pay.
